A Three Day Miracle

Just arrived on retreat. Dressed precisely like someone who has never been on retreat before (but secretly totally digging the amaaaaaaaze wedge booties from Primark! They kind of look like Alaia. We love.)

"Erm, you look, kind of, well, tired?" So said my 18-year-old fresh-faced sister when she came to stay for the closing parties.

TIRED? I totally don't GET tired!
Well, apparently even girls who blog can get a little tired, so in the midst of the closing party madness, my wingwoman GiGi and I ran off to the La Manga Club (www.lamangaclub.es) for a 'minibreak (!)' with celeb personal trainer, Steve Halsall, at his butt-kicking Fitness 12 detox retreat (www.fitness12retreats.com).
I normally try and swerve anything which involves sportswear (unless it's of the luxe variety and comes tissue-wrapped from Alexander Wang), but with 20 weeks of summer out of the way, and one more to go, I needed a kick.
For three days we ran, cycled, yoga-d, stretched, lifted, pulled, juiced, slept, fasted, steamed and meditated ourselves into oblivion. I have never been SO tired and SO energised at the same time.

When we could eat, Steve cooked us the most delicate suppers of steamed fish and vegetables. When we couldn't, we drank shakes that tasted of ponds, shakes that tasted of sand and shakes that tasted of cat's milk.
I slept like a baby, was massaged like a queen and whinged like a brat.
And we pushed ourselves to breaking point and watched the sun rise whilst meditating on a deserted windswept beach.
We arrived needing a boost and left looking 10 years younger, waaaay skinnier, weighing in three pounds lighter and TOTALLY ready to smash the last week of closings.
AMAZE! Now back to the parties one last time x

The shakes. This face was pulled with relative frequency throughout the weekend.

I seriously cannot remember the last time I woke up this early.

Yoga at sunrise. Like, totally Om Shanti

Throwing shapes. In a new way.
